Our program, The Sound of the Drums, paints a vivid picture through live performance, inspired speaking, and educational film, of how the drum set changed the course of early American music and how it continues to influence popular music today.Working from historical records and interviews with many innovative drummers from past to present, the story of contemporary music comes to life with our short film, “The Drum Set: An American Invention” (25 minutes).
